Kit Glaisyer: The Marshwood Vale & Beyond

In recent years Bridport-based artist Kit Glaisyer has established himself as a leading contemporary landscape painter, and now a selection from fifteen years of his paintings has been brought together in his book ‘The Marshwood Vale & Beyond’, published by Downes Street Editions and available online and in book shops from 13^th August 2022.

This panoramic-format book contains a collection of 56 paintings by Kit Glaisyer, 16 early pieces and 40 paintings created between 2005 and 2020 at his studio in Bridport's Art & Vintage Quarter, West Dorset. Kit set out to discover hidden corners of the West Country which he explores throughout the seasons, sometimes waiting several weeks for an inspiring moment that will become the subject of a painting. This series of Cinematic landscape paintings was largely made possible by the numerous patrons and private collectors who have allowed Kit to work, undistracted, for six to eight months on each individual painting.
